Cookies

Updated November 4, 2026

My Slop uses only cookies and browser storage that the site needs to work or that keep a choice you made. There are no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and nothing is shared with ad networks. Because of that, the site does not ask for cookie consent. You can still block or delete cookies in your browser at any time; signing in and forms will then stop working.

myslop_sidSession: keeps you signed in, protects forms against forged requests, remembers the steps of a form you are filling in.30 days
myslop_deviceSet when you sign in with a password. Marks this browser as one that signed in to your account before, so if someone else keeps guessing your password and the account gets blocked for an hour, you can still sign in from here.180 days

Storage in your browser

These values stay in your browser (local storage) and are not sent to us.

KeyWhat it does
myslop:recentYour recent searches, shown in the search box. You can clear them there.
myslop:draftA draft of the app form, so you do not lose it if the page closes.
myslop.weeklyWhether you closed the Weekly sign-up box.
myslop.pushp.…When you chose “Not now” on the offer to turn on notifications, so it is not shown again for 14 days.
myslop.feedbackWhen the feedback prompt was last shown, so it does not appear too often.

Notifications

If you turn on browser notifications, your browser registers a small script (/sw.js) and gives us a notification address from your browser’s push service (Apple, Google or Mozilla, depending on the browser). It is used only to deliver the notifications you chose. You choose which events notify you, per device, in Notifications, and can turn them off there or in the browser at any time.

Other sites

  • Payments. Paying for a promotion takes you to Stripe Checkout on stripe.com, which sets its own cookies to process the payment and prevent fraud. See the Stripe privacy policy.
  • Videos. YouTube, Vimeo and Loom players load only after you click “Play video”. YouTube uses its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). The preview image of a YouTube video is loaded from YouTube’s image server.
  • Images in descriptions. App descriptions can include images and badges hosted elsewhere, for example on GitHub or shields.io. Your browser loads them from those sites, which see your IP address.
  • Sign-in with GitHub. If you choose it, you sign in on github.com, under GitHub’s own cookies.
  • Links. Share buttons and “Try {tool}” buttons are ordinary links. Nothing is loaded from those sites until you click. Some “Try” links are affiliate links, marked as such; the site you arrive at may set its own partner cookie.
